soaking our roots in love

I've been busy racing around finishing up a school year and looking forward to a full summer of classes for professional development, trips around the state and around the world and time to rest and reflect. Yesterday morning I realized that I hadn't been watering my plants.

I have the ones that don't need much and they were looking pretty bad.

I tried watering them in one big batch.  Didn't work.  You see these plants need to be soaked in water to be revived and then they need care.  Not my, oh you look wilted care.  But the care of daily checking the soil to see if it is moist.

My heart is like that too.  I need to daily spend time in the "living water".  I can't just wait until I'm wilted or get a big bunch of this water before I leave for a trip.  It is vital to my daily spiritual health that I spend time immersing myself in God's love, remembering who I am in Christ, thinking about the truth.  There is so much around us that sucks us dry.

The blog has been silent for quite awhile.  I've been soaking.  Have you? ~Beth

As we prepare to go to the Philippines here is our pray for you,

"When I(we) think of all this, I(we) fall to my(our) knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. I(we) pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God." (Ephesians 3:14-19 NLT)

  1. "If anyone believe in me, rivers of living water will flow out from that person's heart" (John 7:38).

I'm looking forward to the next time our team can meet & pray together.
Until then, let's drink from Him.
    Christy :-)
